On behalf of the Harvard Varsity Club Board, we have made it possible for the Harvard Community and others to support Ben, his family, and any future undergraduate student-athlete facing a challenge of this nature,” commented Bob Glatz ’88, The Broadbent Family Executive Director of the Harvard Varsity Club.

A heralded recruit out of Hoover, Alabama, Ben had risen on the depth chart in the defensive backfield throughout preseason training camp. He was a two-sport star in football and baseball at Hoover High School, helping the Buccaneers win Alabama 7A State Championships in both sports (football in 2014 & 2016, baseball in 2017). Following his senior year on the gridiron he was selected to the All-State first team.
