Named in honor of William S. Broadbent, Jr. ’06, a former captain of the Harvard men’s squash team, the endowment was established on September 25th, 2015. The endowment ensures that the Harvard Varsity Club is able to preserve the traditions, foster the ideals, and advance the interests of Harvard Athletics, as it has done since its founding in 1886.
Cory ’90 and Susan Thabit P’18, ’23 endowed the Varsity Clubs lettersweater program on May 27, 2015. Thanks to their generosity we can ensure that the tradition of the Harvard lettersweater endures, providing each major H recipient a Polo Ralph Lauren Lettersweater.
Cory ’90 and Susan Thabit P’18, ’23 have established the Cory Thabit Family Senior Letterwinners’ Dinner Endowment on May 24, 2023. Held annually on the eve of Harvard’s Commencement and produced by the Harvard Varsity Club, the Senior Letterwinners’ Dinner is the only occasion where the entire senior class of graduating scholar-athletes is together under one roof. Friends and family gather to celebrate the collective contributions of these impressive seniors and 11 major prizes are awarded, ranging from recognition of outstanding community service to excellent scholarship, character, leadership, and athletic ability.
Harvard Athletics is pleased to announce that Michael ’88 and Ingrid MBA’94 McConnell have established a fund to permanently support the purchase and distribution of Department of Harvard Athletics “DHA” sweatshirts for all scholar-athletes who participate in one of Harvard’s 42 varsity sports.
Harvard Varsity Club Lifetime Memberships provide permanent funding for the HVC, lessen our dependence on annual dues and donations, and ensure that we can make a lasting impact on the Harvard Athletics community.
