Harvard Athletic Achievements

Hailed by her coach as “the most versatile sailor during the first 25 years of Radcliffe sailing,” Barbara demonstrated excellence in single handed and double-handed dinghy racing and in intermediate sloop competition. She was an A-division skipper in three successive National Dinghy Championships, and helped Radcliffe win the Nationals in 1972. Although All American status was not available to women during her collegiate career, she was one of the very first women selected to the Intercollegiate Sailing Hall of Fame.
