Harvard Athletic Achievements

Hailed in athletic circles as “Chief,” he gained football fame as a blocking back and field goal kicker for three years. Excellent defensively, he starred for three years against Yale, punctuating his career by kicking the extra point in the 7-0 victory in his senior year. Also the Eastern Intercollegiate heavyweight wrestling champion as a senior, only the second Harvard man to win a sectional title in that sport.
