Harvard Athletic Achievements

Dan won the EIBL, Ivy League, and Greater Boston League batting title with an average of .421 as a junior, Harvard’s best average in 40 years. An All-Ivy selection in 1970, he set a University record for fewest strikeouts in a season (3). Dan also won the Blair Bat that season, when he hit .477 in League games. The Crimson won the EIBL title in his senior year. He also shares the school record for most doubles in a game with three. On the ice, Dan was a member of one of the most explosive lines in Harvard history and is still ranked 17th on the school’s all-time scoring list (77g, 46a, 123 points). He helped Harvard to the 1971 ECAC Championships and an NCAA bid.
