A tremendous competitor, equally at home on the gridiron or the diamond, he was a standout halfback and infielder. He was a three-year letterman in football, he was on outstanding pass receiver, both lateral and forward, and brilliantly complemented the other members of one of Harvard’s greatest backfields. As a three-year letterman in baseball, he was a smart baserunner, a sure fielder, and a clutch hitter. He won the Wendell Bat in 1932.
