Outstanding as both an individual and a team man, he was another mainstay on outstanding Harvard squads. Specializing in the demanding breast stroke event, he lowered the college record three times at 100 yards and four times at 200 yards. He also set Eastern records at those distances – in 1958 in the 100, in 1959 in the 200. His other major contribution came on the breaststroke leg on the record-breaking relay team.
