Stricker competed in both cross country and track, winning the 1981 and 1985 Ivy League Cross Country Championship meets. She was a first team All-Ivy selection in those two seasons and honored as an Ivy League Silver Anniversary Honor Roll selection for cross country. Stricker won five Ivy League Championship events in her track career and was a 1982 All-American in both cross country and indoor track. In 1983, she placed third at NCAAs in the indoor two-mile.
