A superb leader and an outstanding athlete, he starred for three seasons, captaining the team in his senior year. During that span Harvard had a record of 27 victories, 2 ties and only 7 losses. Included were six straight triumphs over Yale. Went on to captain the 1932 U.S. Olympic team and to serve with distinction as Varsity hockey coach for seven years. Also a baseball standout, a starry infielder for three years and winner of both major diamond awards.
