A forward, Harvard the Ivy League title all three years he played varsity hockey (last two unbeaten in the league) and went to the NCAA tourney his junior and senior years. As the senior captain, he helped lead Harvard to the Beanpot tourney, Ivy League Title (fifth straight), two wins vs. Yale (6-2, 6-0) and three wins vs. Boston College (6-1, 7-3 and 8-1 scores). The team, which had gone to the NCAA tourney in 1957, lost six straight games around Christmas, and then won 17 straight games. Not considered as graceful a skater as brother Bill, he was a master playmaker, as well as a colorful and inspiring leader.
