Harvard Athletic Achievements

A legendary figure whose name will live forever in the athletic world, he won the National Open as a Harvard undergraduate and was voted a special “H” Award in 1924. Ineligible for varsity competition because he had already graduated from Georgia Tech, he was the unofficial coach of the undefeated 1924 team. The epitome of sportsmanship, he joins such superstars as Olympians Richard T. Button ’52 and Tenley Albirght ’55 in this special category of Harvard honors.
