Steve established Ivy, Heptagonal, and Harvard records in the pole vault, and was the first Ivy Leaguer to go over 16-feet. He was a three-time Heps champion and was also victorious in IC4A and Oxford-Cambridge meet competition. Steve was very competitive, team-oriented, and remarkably consistent. His first vault over 16’ came in the Stadium, with its swirling wind conditions and a short runway. Steve went on to clear a personal best 16’4” later in his career.
