Harvard Athletic Achievements

Magnificently endowed physically, he was an overpowering pitcher and a rambunctious tackle in football. Lettered for three years in baseball, captained the team as a senior, and won the Wingate Memorial trophy as the most valuable player in 1940. He was an excellent student in the classroom as well as on the playing fields.
