Harvard Athletic Achievements

Undefeated in dual meet competition for three straight years, he joined with Smith to give Harvard its strongest ring representation in the brief but brilliant era in which boxing was officially recognized. He won the Eastern Intercollegiate 125-pound championship in 1936, after having lost in the lightweight semi-finals to the ultimate champion a year earlier. He loved to fight, and his competitive heart weighed as much as his body.
