Summer Internship (2025): Investment Team – Boston, MA OR Menlo Park, CA

Who we are

At Summit Partners, our mission is to be the investment partner of choice for the very best companies and executive talent. With a history spanning four decades, Summit invests across growth sectors of the economy and has invested in more than 550 companies in technology, healthcare, and other growth industries including financial services, consumer, business services and industrial technology. What you’ll do

Our commitment to the growth of our portfolio companies is matched only by our dedication to the growth of our people. Summer Interns will function as integral members of an experienced deal team. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Summit Partners’ effort to shape new investment themes and identify potential deal candidates
  • Assisting in all aspects of the investment process
  • Conducting market and industry research to identify and qualify investment opportunities, largely in private companies
  • Helping with transaction-specific responsibilities such as due diligence and quantitative analysis

Summer interns will also be provided with financial analysis training.

What you’re like

Summer Interns who join Summit Partners possess a strong record of academic achievement at the undergraduate level from a leading college or university. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of leadership skills, outstanding academic achievements and extra-curricular honors including in some cases success in collegiate athletics. While we prefer candidates who have an understanding of economics, accounting, and/or corporate finance, majoring in these fields is not a requirement. We look for a minimum GPA of 3.6 and only accept 2026 graduates.

The Summer Intern position requires highly motivated, detail-oriented individuals with strong analytical and communication skills. Interns must be able to think quickly and will work in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates must have a proven track record of leadership skills.

This is a paid, temporary position that is not eligible for the Firm’s standard benefits package. The Summer Intern program is typically 10 weeks in duration. Strong performing Summer Interns could have an opportunity to join Summit as a full-time employee upon graduation. We have roles available in our Boston office, centrally located in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood and in our Menlo Park office, in the heart of Silicon Valley. You will have access to an onsite gym, catered breakfast and lunch, a fully stocked kitchen, and plentiful team and office events.

We are committed to cultivating a high-performance environment designed to generate the best ideas, drive innovation and promote the professional growth of our team. We set a high bar, welcoming diverse perspectives to get to the best outcomes.

Exceptional people are the foundation of our success — both within Summit and across our portfolio companies. Together, we build and grow category-leading companies and successful careers.  Thank you for considering Summit, and we look forward to receiving your application.
